MOONSTONE

As its name suggests moonstone has a strong connection to the moon.  Its a feminine stone of new beginnings and change.  As we look at it, we notice that its colour changes, and we are reminded of the changing nature of the moon and of life.

Predominantly being associated with the female sex, it is also used to balance masculine and feminine energies and is a tool used to assist men who seek more sensitivity.  Traditionally, moonstone was used to activate, develop and encourage psychic abilities.  It is a calming stone that helps to counteract irrational behaviour towards emotional situations.

In addition, moonstone is associated with the female reproductive cycle and is great for PMS, pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding.  It is an excellent aid for hormone imbalance and stabilises the biorhythmic clock.

THE NEW MOON

The new moon is on its way (Saturday night, May 10, if you're in Australia) so you know what that symbolises - a new cycle and a fresh start.

This also means it will be the perfect time to cleanse and recharge all of your gemstones and minerals.  The best way to do this is to sit them in the moonlight over night - EASY!
